Beausoleil First Nation Transportation

In 1985, the M.V Indian Maiden was commissioned to provide transportation service the the Beausoleil First Nation community. The M.V Indian Maiden is a passenger only vessel capable of transporting 70 persons. This vessel was designed and built exclusively for Beausoleil First Nation in 1987. The Indian Maiden has the capability of breaking ice of up to 4 inches.

The M.V Sandy Graham was purchased in 1998 to provide both passenger and vehicle transportation. The M.V Sandy Graham has a 98 passenger capacity and 28 vehicle capacity. A schedule is available below. It is also necessary to note that it is upon the Captain's discretion to run ferry services during inclement weather.

Remember This Vessel?

This is a vessel that most would remember. Times have changed since then, and we have more than enough room to spare now with the M.V Sandy Graham. Nostalgic yes, but when you're number 26 in line on a Friday long weekend at Cedar Point, you are probably glad that this vessel isn't around anymore! The Transportation administrative staff and Ferry Crews are available for more information regarding ferry services. Arnold Jamieson Jr. was hired as the new Ferries Coordinator in November of 2008.
