Community Economic Development is..
- Provide advisory services to Chief and Council, and community members
- Liaison between various levels of government, Chief and Council and Community on issues related to Economic Development
- Delivery agent of programs and services related to Economic Development
- Assist community members with business development and support
- Provide current information to businesses pertaining Regulations, financing opportunities, training opportunities and pertinent information
- To represent Beausoleil First Nation on any related boards that will directly involve Economic Development as one focus
- To develop a Community Investment Profile.
The Economic Development Office has been restructured into a department with two Officers:

Duties include to provide assistance to private entrepreneurs and existing businesses, by providing information, training, and support for individuals' business success. This includes recruiting the new Beausoleil Economic Development Committee.
BEDC Organizational Mandate:
The Beausoleil Economic Development Committee is committed to small business development and small business preservation through the provision of financial and management support for the First Nation community members who reside on Christian Island.
We will be posting for new members in the near future. If you are interested in becoming a member of the BEDC, keep your eyes open for a posting either in the community or this website.
